THE GUNNERY BEAT ENSEMBLE

This final release from the Art of Self Help project consists of 12 compositions made entirely from sound samples recorded in the field during 3 visits to the Outer Hebrides August 2018 to November 2019. The album takes its name from the C16th Gunnery building on the island of Beàrnaraigh. A recording taken from the Gunnery as rain dripped from its roof forms the beat of each track which in turn feature samples of recordings taken across the islands during this time.
